I used to be able to find menthol shaving cream at just about any grocery store. Now, I can’t seem to find it anywhere. What happened? Is this a case of a product being popular mostly with a particular generation, and now that generation is dying off and demand for that product has dropped? I guess the primary purpose of menthol shaving cream was to provide cooling relief for razor burn. Modern razors aren’t as prone to causing razor burn, so perhaps the need for menthol has simply gone away…
It’s still around, though harder to find that it once was. Barbasol, among others, still makes it, and you can order it right from their website. I suspect you’re correct about the reason for its drop in popularity.
