He may be fine with Russia having them.
A Russian military base in North America is a clear and present danger to the United States.
I doubt that bothers the Cheeto.
Think Cuban missile crisis, America simply would not allow it and any president that allowed it would be found incompetent and removed immediately.
Trump might offer to negotiate the deal for a percentage and naming rights.
If it’s Russia he doesn’t care. If it’s China he threatens Mexico, and if that doesn’t work attacks them. Not because of China, but because Mexico dared to defy him.
If Mexico let the Russian military in, I’d say that Mexico had a bigger problem on its hands than the US would.

It’s China that would try to be Mexico’s BFF.
They are making incredible inroads all over the world in getting their people, including military, set up in various countries.
Note that the new Nicaragua canal project is managed by a Chinese front company. It includes rights similar to the old US Panama canal zone. (I think even the PRC is having doubts about the viability of this.)
The OAS has no say so over such matters.

This is not to say that Mexico is evil, only that they have a tradition of doing what they want to do despite international pressure. They’re not the sort of people that I would carelessly scapegoat.

I was not correct. Mexico did not officially support the Axis powers. Ignorance fought!

You may be thinking of WWI; the Kaiser wanted Mexico to join the Central Powers in exchange for the chance to retake the Southwest. Mexico wasn’t interested. It was a crazy plan anyway.

Why doesn’t Mexico join NATO? Are they not invited? They don’t want to? It would be too hard meeting the requirements?
If they are comming by boat you sink the boat, if they come by plane you shoot down the plane.
And so is Trump.
The USA is already in NATO and has far more influence with other NATO countries than Mexico, so in a fight between the USA and Mexico, the USA would trump.
