What do you think? Would they end up being accussed of being trolls, would they stubbornly stick to their guns when we, The Teeming Millions, shine the Light of Anti-Ignorance (granted to us by Saint Cecil Himself) on them? Would they turn out to be (ironically) Liberatarian or Polycarp or andros (to name but a few), or would they turn out to be Wildest Bill or Rook or Jack Dean Tyler (to name but a few)?
Dubya would spend most of his time in MPSIMS and IMHO until he followed a link over to the Pizza Parlor, where he’d endlessly discuss Creationism with like-minded individuals. AlGore would create 600 post threads about every issue (except SOCAS and the death penalty), wherein David B would consistently berate him for making up statistics and failure to provide cites.
Both would post Pit threads accusing the other one of gratuitous flaming.
Karl Rove would write Dubya’s posts after his bedtime (9PM) or when he is relaxing with his Playstation 2 (2-5 PM). Karl, being the bastard that he is, would probably hide his IP and cover the MB with sock puppets.
Al Gore would write every post himself. And they would all be fundamentally unreadable. It wouldn’t take long before people began to call him out on linguistic contortions, and he would soon end up in the Pit. He would spend his days in vain trying to argue with John Corrado, and wouldn’t stand a chance of winning.
Couple of observations: Someone sardonically commented about one of Wildest Bill’s posts where he’d ignored a request for a cite that he couldn’t take the time to do that, with all the campaigning he has to do. And we did once have a poster named Al G. from Tennessee.
Perhaps it really is Libertarian. After all, around the time the campaigns really picked up he disappeared from the boards. (Anyone know what’s become of him?)
Nonsense. Dubya would merely deny having squicked since he found Jesus and stopped drinking, and refuse to answer any questions about squicking prior to that time.
Al Gore would get flamed for using bold and all caps way too much (as in “I WILL FIGHT FOR YOU!”) while Dubya would avoid any direct confrontations, advocating “tolerance” while trying to “unify” both sides of GD threads with lots of smiley-faces and winking emoticons.
They’d both change their sig lines twice a week, to align with the current media blitzes.
Frankly, I’d love to see what Al and Dubya would say in threads such as “Enterprise vs. Star Destroyer.” Many Doper votes could well be won in there.
I can assure you it isn’t. Lib’s new position has consumed him for the time being. He’ll be back as soon as it’s possible to give the time that would be demanded of him.
Bush and Gore participating in real debates with real people?
