What is a day like on The Voice?

My wife and I enjoy watching The Voice on NBC. One thing that has always bothered me, though, is what is the schedule like from the contestant’s point of view? They have studio rehearsals, theater rehearsals, photo shoots, interviews, promotional shoots, iTunes recording sessions, and on and on.

Anyone know how they fit all of that in a day/week? Some of the contestants are high school aged. What do they do about school?

Have no idea, I always wondered and assume that the show pays for each contestants stay in Los Angeles while they are on the show. And other travel expenses.

From what I heard, those who are students take time off, judging by comments they make like “if it were not for this show, I would be at school right now”. Same with jobs.
