Political pundits are frequently talking about so-called “gotcha games,” and they don’t seem to like them. As I understand it means either asking a loaded question and then calling out the respondent, or simply catching someone in the act of doing something wrong. So what’s the problem with either case? Are those gotcha’s and if so why are they seen with disdain?
It generally refers to drawing someone into saying something that will get them into trouble. Then repeating that they said “x” all over the place, and pointing out that this just shows etc.etc.
