I am working on Turbotax to get my US tax declaration done.
I am finally ready to file it electronically. I cannot get past the final error check.
The program is rejecting my ‘Post of Duty’ on my Form 2555 Foreign Earned Income form. I used ‘KSA’, but it hiccuped. I used ‘Saudi Arabia’ but it burped.
What the heck is ‘Post of Duty?’ It sounds very military.
Of course the helplines are closed at the moment.
Here is a link to the IRS instructions for form 1055. Just a casual glance at the form and the instructions, I didnt’ see a line for “post of duty.” Maybe just Turbo Tax’s way of asking for something else that is on the form. Here is a pdf of the form 2555.
Grumble!
It is the last thing I have to fill out! Further I cannot call TurboTax for help since they will not accept my credit card (their form will not accept my state of ‘AE’).
(Just consider the six lines of angry drivel I just deleted. I need to calm down.)
