I was never a cycling enthusiast, but I regularly rode my bike at least once a week or maybe as little as every couple of weeks if there was a lot going on. I don’t think I rode my bike a single time last year. At the beginning of the year I could have blamed my knee surgery, but then eventually interest wore off and I didn’t have the time or the motivation to make time.
Watching TV dramas and comedies. Before my son’s bedtime I’m usually either having dinner or interacting with him, or, if I have a little free time, I’m reading. Whatever TV time there is, he watches his shows. After my son’s bedtime I’m usually so tired I want to go to sleep myself. (My son is three years old, by the way.)
I’ll second this one. I used to love running and some other things - various crafts etc. However, a mostly absent husband and four kids 13-19 do not leisure time make. I’m lucky if I manage to read 30 minutes before bed.
When I first read this thread I thought it said “What is a cavity that you have enjoyed doing that you’ve…”
And I was like… wow… how many cavities are there to do?
In the last year? Mine all went by the wayside longer ago than that. Martial arts, bellydancing, yoga, restaurants, knitting.
The independent stuff stopped when I met my husband, because frankly I was doing them just to keep busy while I was single. Restaurants and knitting stopped when we had a baby. No time, energy, or attention span.
Purchasing scented shower gels. I got somewhat addicted over the past few years, and now I have enough scented shower gels to last me approximately the rest of my life.
Eating dried cantaloupe. When I have dried cantaloupe in the house, I tend to eat it to the exclusion of everything else, especially healthier fresh fruit, so it had to go.
Watch Colbert in the morning before work. I wasn’t getting enough sleep, and I realized that by eliminating morning Colbert I could recapture half an hour. I’m enjoying the extra sleep, but I still miss waking up to him. (My landlady once asked me why I always seemed to be laughing hysterically at 5:30 a.m.)
Thank you.
 I think that would probably put me off them too, but based on my mani-pedi habits (1x/3 years), it wouldn’t be a huge loss.
I don’t bike around much anymore. Why? I have a long commute with my job, so fitting in exercise for the sake of exercise is tough, let alone leisurely bike rides. Additionally, I need to get a new tube and I just haven’t gotten around to it. Between the crazy drivers down here* and the lack of time, it’s not been a priority.
*We have crazy drivers all year round, but it’s Snowbird Season, so there are two to three times as many people on the road now who don’t pay attention as there are in the summer months. It makes bicycling a little scarier, as some of the local drivers shouldn’t have licenses.
I’ve stopped reading new Terry Pratchett books for reasons to sad to post.
