What is ASSUMED about your fandom?

As a Disney fan, more specifically as a fan of the Disney shorts, it’s assumed that I think all of them are a laugh riot and that they are all better than Warner or even Fleicher cartoons of the same era.

Nope … some are just barely watchable; I hate the way Donald Duck got to be a one trick pony and I wish they had let Mickey stay more of the loveable scoundrel that he was in the early years.

…but, in my defence, never both at the same time!

Oh and thirding what Spoons said.

That as a Pencil and Paper Roleplaying Gamer, Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, Comic Book, MMORPG, fan I’m some kind of nerd.

If you’ll excuse me I’m halfway through reading a slash fiction where Picard and Razorbeak totally get it on.

Being a female anime fan, I have observed that most female anime fans believe a male character’s default sexuality is gay. Or if they had a canon relationship with a woman, that they were either confused then, or bi with severe gay leanings.

This is not really a problem, except when you have every single Gundam Wing male character paired off with each other. Not even one token heterosexual relationship. Or a womanizing character with a 100:1 yaoi:het fanfic ratio.

Except for around school playgrounds, where a bulk of a certain age react amusingly to a wind-up of ‘Chelsea…United? That’s who you support?’

So you’re NOT a fursuiting pervert?

Um, you should probably just delete my e-mail without looking at the attached jpegs.

I’m too POOR to be a fursuiter. The other one I can’t argue with. shrug It’s not furry related - I think it’s genetic.

As a horror movie fan, it’s usually assumed I’m a guy (no), a Satan whorshipper (what?!) and only into what I watch for the blood and gore. Although I can enjoy a good ol’ Giallo with the best of them, I like my films a bit more morally subjective, plot-driven and subtle than that. Oh, there’s also the belief that I’m prone to violence myself. Bwahahaha! I have a hard time killing flies. Anyway…

I’m more of a Clockwork fan or the newer (well, within the last decade), more thought-provoking works of say something like Ravenous. The fanboys can keep Freddie Vs. Jason and Troma fare. :stuck_out_tongue:
