I once saw a reference to this in a Ruth Rendell novel; a guy goes to a veterinarian and is told, “We don’t take wounded-animal cases on Saturdays; we’re only open for clipping and stripping.” At the time, I thought this meant clipping nails and flea baths, but it occured to me that it might really mean getting “tutored”; that is, spaying and neutering. Is that so?
It refers to dog grooming. Clipping is, of course, clipping, and stripping refers to a technique of only pulling out the longer guard hairs on some breeds.
Okay then! Thank you.
