What is extremely common in YouTube videos but almost never happens in real life?

Every recipe turns out even better than expected. Every. Single. Time. And the kitchen is spotless before, during and after the cooking.
Except for that poor overweight lady with the pasta salad who died recently whose name I have forgotten.

How soon we forget. Fame is fleeting and YouTube fame more so than most.

I’ve never watched one, but boy does YT shove them my way.

Is it pandering as in an excuse to ogle college-age girls looking happily fascinated to be looking into the canera and hence your face, or is it pandering as in college girls oohing & aahing about your taste in what’s really pitiful antique geezer music to them?

Or both?

I’ve rarely seen it with some pretty young coed. In my (limited, since I don’t click) experience, it’s some young male from some minority group. That was, old white dudes can feel smug and validated while a 19 year old Kanye fan is amazed at how great Pink Floyd really is.

Nobody has ever stopped in the middle of a conversation to tell me how much they love playing Raid: Shadow Legends while using NordVPN and their Raycon earbuds.

In the case of the guy I linked to with the Sweet song, it’s a dude with a full beard, so absolutely no ogling material at all, as far as I’m concerned. I think the idea is just that I’m supposed to think, yeah, the younger folks are appreciating my music! But the dude puts in some work to make it entertaining (and maybe he really does like the songs he reacts to, but I’m not placing any bets), so I’ll give him that.

People rarely talk to themselves for an hour while playing a video game, I suspect.

Thanks. Great explanation

Yet another thing I’ll never understand the attraction of.

Hah!

What’s extremely common on YouTube that rarely happens in real life: People thinking that Hello Fresh or Factor is a great deal!

(Seriously, even if you like them the attrition rate on those plans is huge)

I don’t believe that many people mix up John and Hank Green.
