What is "eyebrow threading"?

I get my eyebrows done at the mall. Certainly, I wont be getting my Brazilian wax in the middle of the mall or anything, but when I got my eyebrows waxed back in the day, that was out in the open, too.

And I’m willing to layback in the mall to get my brows done because: it’s cheaper than waxing, it’s faster than waxing, and it looks a million times better than waxing. In my experience, even the most high end waxing still will grab a stray hair from where it shouldn’t, causing bald spots in my brows over time. Also, I always end up all swollen and ugly for hours after a wax. With threading, I get that gorgeous “Bollywood Brow” look- great shape, thick but clean, nice arch without any bald spots.

Sorry. I instantly felt the need to defend myself.

It’s funny that people are paying for this now; when I was a new lawyer, one of my first criminal defense clients was an 18 year old girl (shoplifting) who told me she didn’t ever want to go to jail again, because “they pluck their eyebrows with string!”

It’s been happening in other countries forever. It’s just really getting popular here in the States recently.

Yeah same here. It’s not about covering up private parts or anything but I do prefer to be in a private area for waxing. Not sure why.

Me too, though it’s hard to say why. I guess having your hair washed and styled where everyone can see you is no biggie because it’s not some big secret that most people get their hair cut in a salon. But having facial waxing in the front area of the salon… it certainly doesn’t feel very glamorous or ladylike, and though people can presumably tell I shape my eyebrows, I don’t want them to see me doing it. I might apply lipstick in public, but I’m not going to be pulling out tweezers and a mirror in a restaurant or on the train.
