I will not post the link on the off shot it’s illegal.
FromSport provides links to stream sports, including European feeds and so forth. I’ve been using it to watch the French Open live in the morning, especially since the coverage in the US doesn’t begin until Noon Eastern.
It basically provides links to a wide variety of streaming video, some of which contain commercials and some that don’t.
It’s FromSports Dot Com, by the way. Or just Google it.
Is anyone else familiar with it? What is it? Who made it? Is it legal in the US?
Uh, because it has streaming video that does not look “authorized”. Where did I even suggest that US companies have copyright? I mean, did you have to be smug? Did you even need to post in this thread?
Then how do they get up and running?
I’m curious about it, actually. I feel bad now that I’ve been watching the French Open, but the feeds have commercials, which I can not fast forward.
Anyone can create a site at anytime. I have a bunch of domain names I don’t use. I could just take illegal content and upload it. Who’s gonna stop me? Not my ISP for sure. Not my domain host.
If my content bothers people or infringes on someone’s intellectual property then they have to file a DMCA notice with whoever hosts my domain and get the content removed that way or to sue me in court to get it taken down.
I wouldn’t feel bad about watching. If you really feel bad find the copyright owner or the company you think owns it and shoot them an email letting them know someone may be infringing on their copyright and let that company handle it.
That’s why they hire lawyers
No one can tell you if they are illegal or not except the owner of said material. That company may have given permission or may have not.
The privacy policy on the website says, “No video or videos are hosted on this site. Any of the video you can find here may be gotten for free on sites like Justin.tv, Ustream.tv, Selfcast, and many others. Note we do not promise or guarantee our service and are not responsible for any action of our user’s. We have no partnership and don’t request to have partnership with any owner of video’s or stream’s given on our website. All content is copyright of their respective owners.” So it sounds like they’re just aggregating feeds from other sites, or just linking to them.
