Someone once told me that Google would mail a letter to a company which was then returned to Google to verify a legitimate address. This would allow, say, a bike shop in Somecity to get a higher pagescore for a ‘Somecity bikes’ search than ‘Othertown bikes’ and thus a more desirable spot in search results. Of course, this incentivizes the bike shop in Othertown to set up a sham address in Somecity to scoop up those searches and drive business their way.
Maybe that’s what is going on here?
I really doubt that NCR cares whether it shows up in a Google Maps search for Podunk USA. It’s hardly a retail business.
I hope they have Automated Teller Machine machines.
I remember when Mitt Romney was running for President there was story about how dozens of companies, including his, were incorporated at a tiny private home in some state, I forget which. There was a person living there and their job was just sorting the mail for all these companies. It was clearly a tax thing. Maybe this is something like that?
I must be turning dyslexic. ![]()
Anyway, NCR is not just a local company. There should be a number available on the internet you can call and ask for their address.
