Most 3 day holiday weekends are now 4 days so the teachers can get a full 3 day weekend on some tropical island.

Does anyone else find this statement ironic, to say the least?

OMG!!! This is unbeleivable! BY age 5 I knew all that stuff and so did my classmates…well…some of them… But still…im shocked!!!..shocked!! To hear this kind of junk happening in our world…no sorry…make that our States!!! There should be a press conference about this kind of malarky and such. Better yet we should all send letters to our state’s Administraiton. Im saddened by the lackadascious state of sagacity our children have become.

Amazingly so, yes.

My father is a high school spanish teacher (and an excellent one), and I don’t recall him or any of his coworkers skipping the country for a madcap tropical getaway at the first sign of a 3 day weekend.
