What is it with elections and car antennas?

Hi, I have been lurking for a while but now I feel I have something that I must share.

Please allow me to explain.

In 1984, Ronald Reagan was re-elected and I had my first car. About a month after the election, my car antenna was stolen. Hmm. Everthing was fine, until…

In 1988, Bush Sr was elected. Shortly thereafter my car antenna was stolen. Several election jokes occur to me, but what of it?

In 1992 Clinton is elected, my car is fine.

In 1996 Clinton is re-elected. Once again fine.

In 2000 Bush Jr is elected. Shortly to be followed by my car antenna being stolen. Now republican jokes are occuring to me. I replace it, things continue fine until…

In the 2002 midterm elections, the republicans take congress and just last week (this one took longer than usual, I think the effect was weakened) my car antenna gets stolen.

Is the effect expanding? Is it happening to anyone else? I’ve never had anything stolen from my car other than the antenna, and never had the antenna stolen at any other time.

Any explanation welcome.

Well, somebody stole my hood ornament a week after the recent midterm elections. $46.50 new from The General…no, thanks.

But no, never an antenna. Maybe someone’s wiring them together, hoping to contact the Space Brothers and arrange an invasion before the next Republican victory. I must admit, I’d be willing to consider that option

So, are you hanging political ads from your car antenna or what?
