what is kinestesiology?

hi,

My friend’s girlfriend’s mum is a kinestesiologist, and he recently got me a session with her because i was curious to what it is.

I cant really explain what it was she did. But she says she asks my subconscious questions and by holding my hands she gets answers from my subconscious through muscle reactions and stuff. It was really weird. And i didnt quite buy it. But appareantly its a recognized science.

Anyways. What im wondering is is kinestesiology for real? Or is it just a superstition like tarot cards or whatever.

My grammar sucks i know :stuck_out_tongue:

Kinesiology is a recognised science - the science of movement. That is real enough.

kinesthesiology - doesn’t seem to appear in too many science journals, and with all due respect to your girlfriends Mum, it sounds like arse.

Next time, just go to a Tarot Reader…

PS - Welcome to the boards.

The most practical application of Kinesiology tends to be in sports medicine- at least that’s how I’m familiar with it. One of my trainers was one, and he was very good about working up training routines, as well as helping ease pain and speed recovery when I injured myself.

As far as I know, there’s no mumbo-jumbo like you’ve described…though she may just be putting a new-age mystique around some fairly practical science to drum up business.

I would not say that to her face, however.
