My wife gave me a shirt, made of “ring spun” cotton. It seems a little softer than regular cotton-why is it different? Is this process better than regular stuff?
Anyway, is “ing spun” a better process?

It’s a fancy name used to make things sound much more expensive, really, so they can charge more. Most industrial-created cotton is “ring-spun”. It uses a spinning method instead of a thread-pulling method of making the fibers stick together in a thread for weaving.
