(I know some folks have built-ins; this thread is obviously for those who have horizontal fridge-top space)
mmm
Two to three dozen toys. That’s where things go when they get left throughout the house. If a kid doesn’t ask where such-and-such is within a month, it goes away permanently.
Nothing at all. We do have a built in, but we have a second one in the basement with nothing on the top. There’s probably not even dust up there as it arrived only today – I know cheating.
There’s a cabinet above the fridge, but it’s not as deep as the fridge. I had to go look to see what’s in the cabinet, as it’s essentially a spare. Turns out the cabinet has a couple of fridge door inserts in it. We use fewer shelves farther apart, which means a couple are left over.
In years past in other houses I kept a flyswatter on top of the fridge; it was mostly out of sight, but easy to grab quickly. Surprisingly, we don’t have a bug problem here, so we don’t have a fly swatter.

2 stand mixers, a couple boxes of cereal and a brownie mix. And a ton of dust. I can’t see up there, I can barely reach the things perched on the edge. So I tend to ignore it unless I pull a chair over to climb on to get something down.
A carton of cheap cookies, a cookie jar that’s currently empty, a couple of brownies, a tin that had some Christmas candies in it, long since eaten, and an index-card box of Grandma’s recipes.
Basket filled with miscellaneous items (pot holders, chip bags, towels, etc.) two cereal boxes. And when I’m cooking in the kitchen, my cat likes to get up there and watch me.
