If they are so great, why aren’t they grown more widely? Is there some type of special soil in the area, like Vidalia onions?
That’s a good question. I really don’t know if it’s the soil or simply a special variety. Interestingly, the same area also produces wonderfully sweet Silver Queen corn. I’ve become so spoiled by it that I wait until September for my first ears of corn each year, because anything else just doesn’t compare.
