Me, too. Kind of like thin layers of brittle “toffee” stacked upon one another. Kind of an ersatz toffee, which is why I have “toffee” in quotes.

I emailed the manufacturer, and asked them what the term for the crispety-crunchety center of a Butterfinger was, and this is their response:
