What is the best auction site for sellers?

I am a pack rat and want to sell all this crap I have collected over the years. I will start with my star wars figures and other toys and move on to other junk(old electronics, books, software etc.).

I assumed I would use ebay because it is the most well known, but the fees seem a little high. I learned that yahoo auctions lets you sell for free but I am afraid I won’t sell for as much money. I also know amazon and a few other sites I never heard of do auctions also. Is there really that much of a difference between how much a Luke Skywalker action figure will sell on ebay as opposed to yahoo(or any other site)?

No comparison. eBay will always fetch the highest price, because that is where most people go. More bids, higher price. That is why the fees are higher.

Here are the recent eBay auctions for Star Wars figures. 79,059 items in the last 30 days, highest selling price, $6,099.99

Compare that to the same search on Yahoo. 413 items in the last five months, highest selling price, $167.50

Amazon doesn’t appear to allow searches of completed auctions, but current listings are far below eBay in quantity and price. eBay will always attract the most rare items, because that’s where the buyers are.
