Yes. Good call.
Ooooh - great choice, I missed that one - glad you sneaked it in.

Call Me the Breeze - Lynyrd Skynyrd
C’est la Vie - Chuck Berry
Captain Jack - Billy Joel
Children of the Sun - Billy Thorpe
Can’t Keep It In - Cat Stevens
Darn, forgot to mention Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos.
“Carefree Highway” – Gordon Lightfoot
“Come On Eileen” – Dexys Midnight Runners
And a second (or whatever ordinal-as-noun) for Arlo’s cover of “City of New Orleans”.
Just wanna say, I’m so glad someone nominated this one.
Let’s get to some real music:
Consuelo’s Departure by The Residents
Crashing by The Residents
Constantinople by The Residents
Honorable Mention: Call Any Vegetable by The Mothers of Invention. “Some people don’t go for prunes. I don’t know. I’ve always found that if they…”
Awww! I missed the window.
Come and Get Your Love - Redbone
Oof, that was a big oversight. Great song.
Oof, indeed. Let’s make a collective effort to remember Gordon when the R nominations show up (Rainy Day People).
mmm
I think a mod should help out with this project. Pin the polls for a day or two and close the threads once the gathering deadline passes. We’re doing important work here, people!
P.S. I didn’t perform Country Feedback, C poll II.
Dammit - I clean forgot Circles by Soul Coughing.

I’m struggling with how long to wait between submissions, polls, and final poll. I get grief for closing too soon and grief for waiting too long.
The poll creation process does give the option to close it after X days, maybe I’ll start doing that while making it clear to participants that it’s a finite deal.
mmm
Cool Places - Sparks
Cool For Cats - Squeeze
Cruel To Be Kind - Nick Lowe
Cygnus X-1 - Rush
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Carouselambra - Led Zeppelin
Have you thought about keeping the polls in the original thread?I don’t think polls necessarily need to be in the OP.
That sounds like an outstanding idea, thanks.
ETA: Or maybe post all the polls - Part I, Part II, and Final - in one thread?
mmm
That would seem to be ideal. Post I, discussion and voting for a little bit, post II, discussion and voting on I and II occurs for a while, then post final, with more votes and discussion. The discussion keeps the thread up with current threads and people don’t have to hopscotch around to access the earlier polls.
That’s a great idea. Anything that keeps the total number of threads down would be good. And less confusing: “Which of these threads is which… did I post in this one already?” And if there were three threads for each letter, that might fill up Cafe Society…
