It nearly kilt me to leave FM out of my choices.
“Worry the bottle Mamma, it’s grapefruit wine…”
(and today I learned that it is “worry” the bottle; I’d always thought it was bury the bottle)

It seems somehow impossible, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard For No One before.
And in her eyes you see nothing, no sign of love behind the tears
cried for no one, a love that should have lasted years
It was on Revolver, so if you had that album, you’d have surely heard it.
If you didn’t have Revolver, either this will jog your memory, or you really haven’t heard it.
You must, it is a beautiful song.
mmm
Too broad. We need separate categories: “Best song that starts with an asterisk”, then “Best song that starts with a squiggle”, then “Best song that starts with an octothorp”… (oh, god, this generation’s going to start doing that one, aren’t they?)
fyi, I am NOT making fun of the A-Z concept. I think these are posts are fun. But I get an F on Songs Beginning With F… all my favorite ones have been mentioned.
Oh, did anyone post “Fake Tales Of San Francisco”, Arctic Monkeys?
Listened to it like it was a new release. Good song, completely unfamiliar.
I love the Beatles, but the only album I ever owned was Abbey Road. I grew up with the Red and Blue records, but they were the only ones in the house.
Looking at Revolver, there are several obscure tracks. And after a quick listen, I can see why some of them aren’t very well known.
There’s only one song in that poll I could even hold my nose and vote for.
Do you have any index to these threads? Any clue as to what letters have already been done, and what letters might be next up?
ETA: I thought I’d replied to the OP. Anyhow, this is addressed to Mean Mr. Mustard.
I’ve been thinking about asking @What_Exit to add a tag, mmm-song-poll, to the tags so we can quickly produce a view of just these polls. Is this a good idea?
I am keeping very detailed notes about which letters have been done, which songs have been submitted, and which songs won each letter. There will eventually be a final poll with each winner eligible.
I don’t know which letter I’m doing until I do it. I think it’s more fun to not give any sort of heads up. I don’t even give myself a heads up.
Also, I’m conscious of not running too many polls at one time. In part to not overload the board with song polls, but also to make it a more leisurely endeavor.
mmm
I think I got them all. mmm-song-poll. Let me know if I missed any.
Click the tag under the title or mmm-song-poll to see all those tagged.
Keen! Thanks.
Thank you!

OK, which letters have already been done?
ETA: Never mind, I see What_Exit is better at this than I am. I noticed that the thread titles for these polls had multiple formats, and gave up trying to do a search because I knew I’d miss some of them.
Apparently I dreamt that mmm put a thread up for the letter W, because all day i thought i had responded to it, but upon searching for it, i see there’s no such thread.
Next poll is posted.
