What is the current dog-sitting rate?

Easy question!
I am about to dog-sit a little dog for my friend’s aunt.
She is asking me to look around for rates so I can give her a price.
I have no clue…!
Do you guys have any ideas of the dog sitting rate?
It is a small dog (york), housebroken, and it is for 7 days.
Thanks in advance!

My son was paid $230.00 to keep a friends dog for a month. The pooch in question came to live with us for the time.

I have a professional petsitter who comes in when we’re on vacation. She feeds and waters all the pets, plays with the dog, brings in the paper and the mail, and waters the plants (if asked). She supposedly charges $15 per day per animal, but because she says cats are easy, she charges us $15 per day per species (and throws in the fish-feeding for free).

Whoops, I’m typing faster than I’m thinking tonight. That’s $15 a day base charge and $3 per day for each additional animal…but because cats are easy, etc.

$15 dollars seems good to me…
I think that what I tell her.
Thanks guys! (PS : I am taking the dog into my house, I am visiting theirs.)

I am NOT visting their house I meant… Geez… I can’t type either!

My son dog-sat for a neighbor and got $50 for the weekend.

Your best bet is to call a dog boarding house in your area and get their going rate. Then lower yours slightly since the dog won’t be receiving the same type of care.
