What is "The funniest thing ever"?

I think you may be right. This was one of the things going through my mind when I first posed the question.

Personally, I don’t find monkeys the least bit humorous, no matter how they may or may not be clothed.

HDS, we were looking for* funny*. That link was just plain scary!

Sorry

Wish mine looked as perky as his, though.

The “funniest thing ever” is the “post office” in Weesatche, Texas (population ~ 100), it is a tool shed (Morgan building) but since it’s a federal building it had to be handicapped accessable so a wheelchair ramp was installed out front, it had to have cost more than the “post office”, I almost fell down I laughed so hard the first time I saw it.

One of the funniest things I’ve ever witnessed was the look on the face of an elderly Italian gentleman when I explained to him that in America, the word “chow” means “food”. I think he suddenly, in that single moment of revelation, understood jokes he’d been hearing from all the crazy Americans he had known for the past fifty years.

Another all-time classic was a performance of the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet I was fortunate enough to witness. Romeo was being played by an extremely masculine woman with a deep voice and east Texas twang. Juliet’s lines came from a short, balding, mustaccioed gentleman who spoke them with a flawless Inspecter Clouseau accent.

Like Jehovah68’s entry, mine also involves a “gentlemen’s club”. The funniest thing I’ve ever seen is a dancer entering the stage at the beginning of her set, with her carefully crafted stage persona and her pouty, ‘screw-me’ face working at full power, when she turns around, and wait, what’s that? The unmistakable shape of a toilet seat pressed into her ass flesh. Good God, I KNOW her confidence must have been ruined that night at an audience full of men laughed hysterically at her.
