You do not need the word “general” in your thread title. “Consensus” implies generality.

You are rightly correct!

I have no desire to see it and I suspect it will turn out to be slightly worse than Transformers since it’s coming out to ride the success of that that movie.
Of course Transformers was a painfully bad movie so I’m anticipating something may kill small animals exposed to it.
All my peers think I’m a heretic because I never liked GI Joe or Transformers and still don’t (haven’t seen the Transformers movie and not interested.) I don’t even know why I didn’t/don’t like them. I loved He-Man and Thundercats, which were of a similar quality and time period.
I’m sure Silver Tyger Girl will be by shortly to threaten you with the Sword of Omens, but until she arrives I’ll have to do. Thundercats was MUCH better than G. I. Joe.
Well, the first season. I don’t acknowledge that any were made after Lion-O ascended to the Lordship.
General Consensus is just a new character. He sits around and asks everyone what to do.
That sounds like it could lead to Major Disaster.
It’s going to suck.
On a related note, try listening to the European-ed opening to the animated movie ( which was kickass. Well, the opening was, anyway):
These 80s toy-based cartoons were not aimed at my demographic, I was either slightly too old for them, or too discerning for their crappy animation and god-awful acting. I told myself that I had no interest whatsoever in the Michael Bay Transformers live action movie because I didn’t have any love for the toys or original cartoon, and therefore wouldn’t relate.
But the Transformers movie turned out to be kick-arse cool.
I have the same feeling about GI Joe. Apart from it being very America-gung-ho in its intent, which is very off-putting, it was also a piece of crappy animation designed only to sell toys. I have no interest in any stupid live action movie version.
Unless it turns out to be kick-arse cool.
Then I wouldn’t worry–I’m sure this one will be just as good.
Followed by Corporal Punishment.
And Private Dancer…
If by “bad” you mean bad-ass. I found the movie fairly entertaining for a Michael Bay flick about a cartoon I watched in the third grade.
And you know what? If this was directed by Bay or Roland Emmerich I might think “ok, it will be stupid, but fun”. Instead it’s directed by Sommers (The Mummy, Van Smellsing) so I’m thinking it might just be stupid.
Is he in the cast? I didn’t think he was.
