What is the go with Pupic hair?

Just a question that has been floating my little head for some time now. WHy do we have pupic hair? What use is it?
It would seem a lot more natural to be bald like the rest of our bodies.

Thanking You

The function of pubic hair (I think that’s what you mean) is to retain scent, otherwise known as pheromones.

Phew, is THAT where that stink is coming from?! No, the pubus is hairy in humans to indicate the individual has reached puberty and might therefore be ready for a quickie behind the rhododendrons. As for shaving - go for it, and enjoy the ensuing itchiness!

“Pupic” is Yiddish for navel… so, you asking why we have hair around the belly bunton? And is that hair or lint?

Marty, welcome aboard, glad to have you hear, and congrats on your first post. However… you might want to check the ARCHIVES section, and you would find that Cecil has already addressed this question. Here’s the link: What’s the purpose of pubic hair?

I will leave this here, since you’re a new poster. But in future, this forum is intended for comments on Mailbag Answers. You should pose questions in the forum called GENERAL QUESTIONS. Then someone could give you the link to Cecil’s column.

Again, welcome aboard.

Or perhaps the OP wants to know why baby moths have hair. Although that would make the use of the first person rather strange.

Another possible benefit of public hair is that it lessens friction in the constant rubbing between the thighs and the public area as we walk about our day.

So was this supposed to be a General Question which was ignorant of the Cecil column, or was it a Comment on the aforementioned Cecil’s Column? Either way, it doesn’t look like it fits here… Moderator!

Oops, my bad… I guess that was Dex up there, deciding to be either merciful or greedy (hey, it’s the slowest forum on the board). Didn’t recognize you there, CK, with those funny Groucho glasses on.
