Aliens and Die Hard.
Having just rewatched Desparado last night I can confirm it holds up well. Definitely in the top ten of purely entertaining movies, so so much better than most other 80s/90s action blockbusters that attempt the same “just entertainment, not taking itself too seriously” trick and fail dismally.
Desperado was the first movie I saw that I specifically remember sitting in the theater thinking “This is the greatest movie I’ve ever seen!” Of course it wasn’t, but I was enthralled with it at the moment.
