What is the most secure way of taking ones life

This springs out of another topic that discussed someone shooting himself in the temple with a gun, and conclusion was that if you survive you would might end up without a face and without eyes. For the rest of your life. So i live near a train line, how safe would it be to lay yourself on the train track and wait for the train to run over your neck? Or --would the body simply be pused out of the way from the train wheels? I guess its morbid, and it is not something id consider, but i was thinking of a fast way for optional suicude victims to make a successfull death. Guns seem like a scary proposition. Trains on the other hand - laying your head on the proper place on the track seems pretty safe

I mean, do we really need to reference a rule about this? Shouldn’t a moment’s reflection on OP’s part tell them why a factual thread about reliable ways to commit suicide is a bad idea? Hint: not because it’s “morbid”.

And this particular method, even if it’s “secure” and instantaneous for the suicidee, is horrifying and traumatic for everyone else involved.

For anybody who may come across this thread for reasons, dial 988 in the United States for the suicide prevention hotline. Also: I don’t want you to die (PM me for details).

(And, since this is the Dope, and we deal with all sorts of questions and facts, I believe something regarding asphyxiation with a bag is most likely to succeed. But I doubt there is such a thing as a safe suicide).

FYI, I read an article that talks about the impact of such an event on the drivers of the trains. They can do nothing to prevent such an event and yet can be traumatized by it for a very long time. So don’t do that.

The “preferred” method was plot point in Lee Child’s Reacher novel Make Me.
But it turned out not so well for the sufferers.
