I’m been working on a Youtube video for awhile and a large part of it has been finding the right royalty free music on a site and having it go in unison with my storyboard.
It must be someones job in the film industry to locate old songs and new ones to be in movies and shows. It’s not a music curator is it?
For example I’m watching the show Good Behavior and the latest episode had this song in it:
The person's job isn't to compose music, it's just to locate it and also possibly the business side so it can be used in the movie/show.
You’re looking at someone with expertise in music, copyright law and technology. Their actual job description would vary between employers’ best interest. Spotify and Youtube have almost diametrically opposite interests of, say, the Library of Congress’ National Recording Preservation Board. Can’t find any open positions in that area of the LOC, but heck, they might even call them librarians.
Huge missed opportunity to call 'em Auditors, if you ask me.
