What is the name of Ohio's governor?

This might seem a strange question, but having just done a search on the Web, I noted that at least one source had it as “Robert H. Taft III” and another had it as “Robert A. Taft II.” So which is it?

perhaps you can call up and ask:

Governor Bob Taft
30th Floor
77 South High Street
Columbus, Ohio 43215-6117

Phone 614-466-3555 or 614-644-HELP

All of my reference sources say that he is Robert A. Taft II.

But like any good Robert, he prefers to be called Bob.

Well, his grandfather was Robert Alphonso Taft, his father was Robert Taft Jr, so I’d bet he’s A the 3rd.

See:

Personally, I call him wishy-washy. Cites available upon request.

I also call him 'ol one-term Bob.

Good news, if it turns out to be so. Question is, who’s going to beat him?

no one will beat him because the evil republicans have so much campaign money you wouldn’t even know a democrat was running.

bluster bob embarrasses himself and the state, but we deserve it. the democratic party is so weak in ohio they are almost non existent.

here in columbus our democratic mayor michael coleman is a tremendous guy, a great politician and hopefully someday will give the gop a run for it’s money.

Hopefully, the Ohio Democratic Party will rebound this year. They dumped their bumbling fool of a chair, finally. It’s not that they can’t win, neighboring Indiana is more conservative but Dems have done well there on the local and state level, but the leadership was flat-out awful and they never seemed to nominate anyone who could appeal to the moderates and independents in the state. I don’t think Hagan can do it, but downballot there are a few statewide races they can win.

Ever since the mid-1980s it seemed to me that it was very rare for the best Democrats to risk running in iffy races. On the other hand, Republican candidates seemed willing to throw themselves up against the wall over and over again, until they finally garnered enough name recognition – Voinovich, DeWine – these guys lost several times before finally winning. I think Paul Pfeifer ran for every conceivable office in the state (and lost) before finally winning a seat on the Supreme Court. Scary.

I think it’s interesting that if you swap the words “republican” and “democrat”, change the state to California, and the name Bluster Bob to DumDum Davis, the above still works perfectly!
