The main character is a sex-slave girl, bought by a super decadent rich person. By the end of the book she has risen to a powerful position, maybe high priestess of something, and is very popular with the city’s people. That is about all I remember.
I think the name of the book is her first name, maybe.
I know it is not much to go on but perhaps someone here can tell me the title.
A helluva book, completely different from the author’s other most famous works, Watership Down, Shardik, and The Plague Dogs. Filled with sex, dom/sub stuff, politics, religion, sex, ancient cultures, supernatural thrills, and a bulemia/obesity fetish.
Flashing on Robert Anton Wilson’s Schrodinger’s Cat trilogy – which most adults would not leave within reach of children, but, in at least one of the volumes, the names of 1970s figures opposed to pornography have become sexual terms, e.g., “Lourd my Rhenquist!”
