ok, it’s a classical peice, and is often played durring the climactic sequence of movies. it features a huge chorous of people yelling somthing in a scary forgin language (probably German). the following is the sequence of high and low notes, sung in short, harsh bursts:
High-High, Low-Low, , High-High, Low-Low, High-High Low-High… Higher, High-Low
if you can figure out what song i’m talking about, please tell me the title, or if you don’t know the title, maybe you can think of a movie that it was played in? I hesitated to post this, for the sake of my dignity, but Not knowing the name of this song is driving me nuts.
The segment is called O, Fortuna (!) from Carmina Burana by **C[/b[arl Orf.
If you go here:
and go about halfway down the page you can listen and (hopefully) confirm that this is the piece you are thinking of. Give it a minute - there is a 23-24 second intro that doesn’t usually make it into those climactic scenes you mentioned.
To me, it sounds vaguely like Ode to Joy, part of one of Beethoven Symphonies-the 9th(?) or 5th(?) perhaps. http://www.ai.mit.edu/people/lethin/beethoven.html
has an audio clip, though it’s about 25 minutes long.
If eggo is thinking of the same one I am, that’s it. First heard it in “Excalibur.” Heard it EVERYWHERE since. Like it’s the Pachebel’s Canon of violence.
I marched with the UCF knights and that was part of our opener. it is absolutly awsome in brass format, not synthesizer like onthe web site. Bow I want to go play my tuba.
