what is the policy on mentioning funds?

I am involved with fund raising for a longer term service for the Kinglake Fire victims. I would fully understand if you don’t want the SD full of begging posts. I would like to mention this fund - to look after injured wildlife and pets immediately, but even more importantly - to work on the longer term and replace kids pets, through the veterinary practice at Hurstbridge, where I live. This is the practice which serves the district including Kinglake, St Andrews and Strathewen, which was so devastated. I have been talking about the fires in the thread on the Australian Heat. There are some pretty traumatized kids and families. Medicos locally agree that a replacement pet could well give them a great deal of help through the psychological trauma of the coming months.

Details are on my website at www.lynnekelly.com.au.
Please let me know of the policy - I really do understand if you would rather the Board not used in this way. Feel free to kill this post as soon as you have replied.

We ask that people email us for permission before starting threads promoting charitable efforts or other personal causes. Usually we approve them, absent a good reason not to. Send an email or private message to the MPSIMS mods (me, SkipMagic and Cajun Man) if you’d like to start a thread about your work. As an aside, putting a link in your sig or profile is generally ok.

Thanks Marley. I’ll email you. You can kill this thread. I won’t be putting a link to my own website, but include relevant details in the post. I do NOT want to exploit this in any way. I was just telling you that so you could check out the details. I’ll put them in an email.
