What is the Shelf life for Nuts d frozen Meats

At present, I have a frozen duck that I 've had in the freezer for the last two and a half years. I also have a big bag of Holiday shell nuts that I have had stored since November. How long can both “The Shell Nuts and the Frozen Duck” be kept before they are no longer any good?

As it happens I have a duck in my freezer compartment, storage instructions are something like ‘freeze on the day of purchase and use within one month’. I think you’re pushing your luck with over two years! Freezing doesn’t stop bacteria it just slows them down. You might have a variation on the rotten foods theme tho’.

Dunno about nuts.

I can agree with you about the duck. The Duck will go to the trash. Anyone know anything about the storage life of Shell Nuts?

I just bought some hazelnuts (no shells) and the package said they could be frozen for six months.

Chuck the duck. Even vacuum packed, 2 years is too long.

Try the nuts. If they’re still good, you can freeze them. Otherwise, shell them and leave them for the birds and squirrels.
