A friend of mine was convinced that (I don’t remember which) either the Mormons or the Jehovah’s Witnesses had an elite group of assassins called the Sword of Jehovah, and that they were some of the best-trained assassins in the world.
That’s an old one, going back to the Mormon “Avenging Angels” in the Sherlock Holmes story “A Study in Scarlet”.
