What is the time expectation for seeing moderator instructions?

According to the time stamps on the posts, your post was half an hour after the mod note. Also, Discourse updates in real-time, so the mod note was literally right in front of you. All you had to do was scroll a bit to see it, along with any other posts that may have come in while you hadn’t completed your post. You also received a notification for the mod note, since it was a reply to your post.

Under those circumstances, I don’t know how you could possibly expect us to presume that you hadn’t seen the note.

Posters: Mods shouldn’t lock threads to let people cool and ensure moderation instructions are understood! It chills discussion and we’re all adults here anyway!

Also posters: I can’t be expected to read the whole thread! Discussions move much too quickly for that!

Pretty good summary.

Yes. I took a long time making the post. I stopped in the middle of writing it to do something else, and then came back to it. I also saw that I had received replies after I had completed the post. There was nothing to indicate that a reply was a moderator note. I didn’t check the replies immediately, because I had other things going on. I’ll try to do so in the future, to at least check if I’ve received a reply from a moderator.

If I may politely say so, I feel like I’m repeating myself. If a moderator wishes to raise a point to me I’ll respond to them. Otherwise, I’ve had my question answered, and had my say. I’m not interested in quibbling about not reading the whole thread, or whether I should be responding to non-moderator replies, or other posts, while I’m composing a post.

Then apparently we are done here.
