I could have sworn a few years ago I was watching the previews and they had this girl who sites next to this guy, she doesn’t know, (who starts out normal of course) on a plane, the guys look a little “not romantic lead” type, but they start talking, then once they take off she asks him, “so what do you do, what is your life about” and he goes, “my life is pretty much . . . about you”. Her eyes open up in terror and then . . .
Then the scene cuts out and they start showing images of her being freaked out and him pulling out all these pictures of her, I forgot what else happens, but I never saw or heard anything about it. Maybe she tries to move her seat but he pretends to be normal?
The stalker guy was caucasion, maybe he had glasses and longer than normal hair, I don’t remember. The girl was the usual young and thin type, can’t remember anyone’s name.
Did I dream this or was it a movie? I am not talking about Jodie Foster’s flightplan.
I stumbled on red eye while I was randomly channel flipping*, and thought it was a romantic comedy. Cillian Murphy (the stalker) and whoever the girl was had really good chemistry while they were flirting on the plane. Then it did a crazy twist where he’s all menacing a terrorist-like, which he also did really well.
After that scene, it becomes a decent but forgettable thriller, but at least if you went in not knowing it was a thriller, the first twenty minutes were really good.
*(I don’t have a TV and just watch movies through Netflix now, which is better in almost every way. But I do kind of miss just having to watch whatever was randomly on while I was doing house chores or whatever, and getting to stumble on good movies by surprise, or getting to watch a movie without knowing anything about it. Granted, that only happened 1% of the time and the other 99% whatever was on would end up being crap, but the age of broadcast movies did have its charms).
