What is the Ultimate Feel-Good Song?

What I Like About You.

Do not be ashamed. OWN YOUR LOVE for the Archies.

This is a great song. Written by the great Jeff Barry. Sung by Ron Dante. A product of one of the great songwriting mills of all time (perhaps second only to Motown).

This is a piece of pure pop art and joy.

True. Absolutely true. But Shonen Knife’s version is possibly even happier.

True. Absolutely true. But Shonen Knife’s version is even cheerier. If such a thing is possible. It’s just so incredibly cute you can’t help smiling.

Sorry about the double post. Don’t know what went wrong there.

Here are some more:

California Sun by The Rivieras (a lot of surf music fits this category)

Let the Good Times Roll and Feel So Good by Bunny Sigler

Believe It or Not by Joey Scarbury (Yeah, it’s a TV theme song, but it was also a hit record that fits the category.)

Three pages and you missed this?

I LOVE “Sugar Sugar” :D.

Hows about:

“Love Shack” by the B-52s
“Cecilia” by Simon and Garfunkle
“Happy Together” by the Turtles.

Three explosions of joy!

Oh yeah!

Lovin’ You - Minnie Riperton

Celebrate - Three Dog Night

Black & White - Three Dog Night

(That’s four 3DN songs now…)

Thank you. I already have about half of them, and am doubling the collection thanks to you all. For whoever de-zombiefies this thread in 2024: Yes, it was only 1-1/2 years earlier for us in 2014 that Gangnam Style spread worldwide. And for at least some of us it still is a feel-good song.

Another feel-good song, from the summer of 2002, is from Spain: Te quiero más (I Love You More). 4.12 of feel-goodness, dancing in the sun.

“On a Carousel,” by The Hollies. I weep with joy whenever I hear this song. Not kidding.

I was also thinking of “Happy Together”

My son loved this when he was little https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFvXvfUF-Co Hermans Hermits

and I heard this yesterday on the radio, no lyrics but still happy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfM6nRVBvGs Allman Brothers

It reminded me of this one from Orleans; once again, the summer of 1975:*

*I still love you, Gina.

Of course, it’s “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.” Who wouldn’t be happy drinking and sharing 99 bottles of beer with their friends?

If you liked the Archies, you gotta love the Monkees:

Allman Brothers “Jessica”

Some reggae makes me happy. THREE LITTLE BIRDS by Marley:cool:

not the Monkees
but the Orleans song brought back memories of college.
