What is the word for the effect following very vigorous exercise where you stare?

I’m sure this happens to other people. In fact, I’ve seen other people do this.

After I do a hard spinning (cycling) class or other very hard cardio workout, for a short length of time my eyes don’t seem to focus on anything in particular. I’m staring. My eyes just don’t seem to want to move around like they usually do and I don’t blink as much. I’m usually looking at the floor about 15 - 20 feet in front of me (rather then at someone, which would be rude). I’ve seen others do this as well. If I try to divert my attention, I will almost always go back to staring within 10 - 20 seconds or so.

What IS that and why does it happen?

IANAD but possibly…IOP? Intraocular pressure…the fluid pressure in your eyes. It is effected by respiration and heart rate. I get that too, along with some tunnel visioning and mild headaches on the rare occasions I motivate myself to exercise hard. It’s also effected by caffeine and alcohol.

It’s what is out of whack when you have glaucoma.

Err, so the term/phrase might be exercise-induced OHT (ocular hypertension).
