But by this late in the summer they are considerably taller. When I trim them at the end of the season I take off as much as 12”. I do have a single step stool, I use this time of the year, to help with that.

It’s a Black and Decker, it can be used very long and straight or in a 90 degree angle to cut the tops. The latter configuration shifts the balance and makes it challenging in a whole different way!

How about getting a stepladder rather than a single step stool to trip the tops of the hedges? You might not need to switch the trimmer to the 90 degree angle configuration in that case.

I’ve got an extension pole and a tree trimming attachment for the power head that came with my string trimmer.

It came with a simple shoulder loop that loops over the opposite shoulder, such that if you have the powerhead at your right hip, the loop is over your right shoulder holding much of the weight.

Note… apparently they make these as aftermarket items.

Thank you so much for this, it looks very interesting. It certainly is giving me ideas. It might prove much too long for me, but that’s a simple alteration to make.
