I tried a few of the font search engines, including Identifont, but with no success. Here’s a picture. All the information panels at Kilmainham gaol were typeset in this font, and it also looks very similar to fonts I’ve seen certain books typeset in from the 60’s and 70’s.
Does anybody know what it is?
I’m surprised something like Identifont doesn’t pick this one up, as it looks pretty common. I haven’t got time to have a proper look, but try Walbaum and Bodoni as a starting point.

Thanks. It seems to look a lot like Bodoni Bold. Now to try to find a LaTeX package for it
