From the Bee Gees song “You Should Be Dancing” – what note is hit at 3:12-3:14?
From this video, it’s not really clear what you mean. Which note are you talking about?
In the linked version, I’m guessing it’s the note sung at ~2:56.
I finally found an online keyboard I could use while listening to the video. To my very tin ear, it sounds like a G.
Do you have access to a piano? I’ve tried to figure out notes or chords by playing a couple of seconds of a song over and over.
G it is. Compare the first note of this Bach fugue in G minor. Bach - Little Fugue in G-minor BWV578 - YouTube
Music questions tend to get more (and better) answers in the Cafe Society forum, so I’ve moved this thread there.
I can’t believe I forgot the link. Sorry! Here it is :
The note at 3:12-3:14. What is it?
Yeah, that’s a G. G5, to be exact. Pretty high for a man, but that’s what makes the Bee Gees so awesome.
Okay, thanks very much. I thought it might be even higher than G5.
I have always been intrigued by falsetto voices. Barry Gibb may have
hit higher notes than this. I need to go through some more songs
and find out. He had an awesome range!
(And I do realize that a lot of people found his high falsetto extremely
annoying…)
I am bronzing this thread.
