Name that song in 3 notes

This may be pretty challenging, but I’m hoping someone here might know.

There is a piece of music that has a 3-note phrase that’s repeated over and over. It starts out softly in the strings and builds louder and louder with more of the orchestra joining in. The melody, of course, is in the violins. It’s full harmonized.

It might be in 3/4, faster than andante. All notes given below would be dotted halves. The 3-note phrase has a bit of a crescendo.

If it were in A minor, the melody would be

E|A|B|(rest)

I believe that the basses end on a G#. I may or may not know a few more notes, but the longer phrase might be

E|A|B|(rest)|E|A|B|(rest)||C|B|A|F|A|F|E|(rest)

Any ideas?
