I’ll try the In My Humble Opinion forum for starters, on the assumption that you want to know others’ opinions about souls. If you’d rather have a serious debate about the existence of souls, let the IMHO moderators know and they may be kind enough to move it to the Great Debates forum.

People are sure you have one because you’re unique and something must be responsible for that. Why not call it a “soul”?
IMHO your soul is the think-y part of you that makes you, well, you. It’s the sum of your thoughts and memories, and it seems to leave your body once your brain stops working for good. Maybe it goes on to another place like religious folk believe, maybe it doesn’t. No one can say for sure.
Brother, I’ve known the people here for years and if you are posting on the SDMB it is safe to assume you don’t have “soul,” which means this thread belongs in Cafe Society.
Or do you mean the religious kind, which would put it in Great Debates? Either way, Bibliophage screwed up when he moved it! 
Just to be clear, are you asking if you got soul or if you have a soul. There’s a difference.
