It seems that this time every year I get sick. This morning I woke up shivering, with a raw congested chest, a sore neck and white scum on my lips. I removed the scum by scraping it off with my teeth but my question is why is it there and what is it? It wasn’t on my lips last night when I went to bed. Does it serve a purpose?
I’ve usually gotten that when I had a head cold, so I assume it’s just dried saliva caused by breathing through my mouth due to my nose being stuffy.
I’ve also noticed that the consistency of my saliva has changed, it’s gotten thicker.
