Where do they get the extra virgins to make extra virgin olive oil, and why do they need so many?

Not sure if they ever were. Back in the day, there was a small Straight Dope store online. I got a t-shirt festooned with the SD Logo. I am guessing there’s little to no interest by own overlords in firing the marketing arm back up.
And, IIRC, mugs were only for Mods.
They were. My husband bought me one years ago, long before I was a mod.

No, you used to be able to buy them. The difference is the SDMB/ mods mugs have “STAFF” imprinted on them. (See Chronos’s link above.)
