A house by the ocean. Somewhat private and one where I can hear the crashing waves in my bedroom. It could be a two room cabin or small bungalow, but it must be on the ocean (Atlantic preferably).
Travel. I would track down our old motorhome, buy him back, have him made completely perfect, then we’d take off again, leaving everything behind… and this time we wouldn’t have to come back. I dream of it every day.
Glad you asked - Laurent Perrier please: http://www.laurentperrierus.com/ultrabrut/index.htm doesn’t have to be this one. On the pool front, I do think I will eventually build a small plunge pool, can’t have it too big since I’ll want to fill it with the above beverage … in my dreams.
Actually, that one is fairly doable in this economy!
I’m thinking I’d like a ridiculous Manhattan penthouse appartment. Maybe near Central Park except I like the Soho/West Village area a bit better.
I had to give this some thought, but if money were no object, I would want a live-in housekeeper who would also make me breakfast every morning. I would never do laundry or dishes or clean the toilet ever again.
I like to cook, so I wouldn’t want a permanent cook – but I never get up early enough to deal with breakfast. I get sick of yogurt and reheated oatmeal.
Cosmetic surgery. My partner swears I don’t need it . . . but I know better.
A Birkin. And one of everything in every color from Nars, Smashbox, and BeneFit.
I’d fly first class every time.
A really nice digital camera, and a really nice sewing machine.
I’d like a little something from Magrathea. Preferably with fjords, but I’m not that picky.
Beyond the usual “new house, no job,” this is what I’d want too. I have naturally curly/frizzy hair and hate it. I envy women who can afford professional blowouts every week.
Can I join you?
An off-the-grid self sufficient home. Solar, composting, the works.
This works for me, though I need the house to be designed for both accessibility and eco-friendliness, I need the fence to be something more elegant than chain link, perhaps reclaimed timber, and I need the property somewhere in a far suburban ring in the western side of the Carolinas. Also? A Prius.
Carlotta- I was referencing the Neil Young songs A Man Needs A Maid, Ohio, and Alabama and a National Lampoon parody thereof.
(hot) is just so she’d be a pleasant sight.
Custom made clothing & books - lots and lots of books!
I want to be warm all the time.
Custom made clothing and shoes is a good one, too. I’ve spent a lifetime in hand-me-downs and clearance rack clothes; it doesn’t bother me much, but clothes that fit ME perfectly, made exactly the way I want them - I can’t even imagine how that would be.
So many things… the country estate would be nice, lots of acres of nature and privacy and a comfy home with a handyman and a maid.
I think most immediately I would buy a vehicle that comfortably fits me and my three dogs and all my dog training equipment. With power everything.
I like the suggestions of a new car (I’ve always driven one 10 years older or more), clothes made to fit you specifically, and a ton of makeup to play with… but my number 1 has to be a piano. A beautiful grand in an all (or mostly) white/light colored room so that the piano is clearly the star of the space.
