What is your descent?

I am part Irish, English, Scottish, German and Russian. I guess I am a colossial mut. Being Michael Masterson I get asked, “Are you related to Bat Masterson?” And the answer is yes, he is in the mix. And how about all of you? What is your descent(s)?

A hurricane is a breeze of a bigly size.

Irish, Scottish (Clan Gunn, to be precise), German and Lithuanian.

Dutch, German, and Scottish.

Native American (Choctaw & Cherokee), German, Irish, Scottish, and French.

Italian, Irish, Danish, and maybe a little French thrown in. Austrian from way way back.

Latvian, just like Surgoshan.

So far everyone has German and Scottish.

Sounds cliche, but:

American.

With but one exception you have to go back at least six generations to find someone not born in North America (my maternal grandfather was Norwegian). That seems long enough to lose the hyphen.

Somehow we’ve been here that long and still haven’t achieved the American dream, what crappy luck.

If you want to go farther back it seems just about everyone emmigration from England or Germany.

English-German-Norwegian. I don’t believe I could get any whiter.

Irish… just Irish, unless you go back to the Norman Invasion…

Guess so… spot on, though. What did they change it in? I see a lot of American names where they just glue the words together, like “Vanderspek”. Ironically, that makes it a Flemish name. Well, maybe some of those actually ARE Flemish, I don’t know.

I’m 15/16 Dutch and 1/16 German.

I consider myself an American, but going by blood I’m overwhelmingly British.

And my last name is Dutch. Go figure.

You need Degas to make De Van Gogh.

I’m half French and half Irish…

which means…

I’d be a great lover if I wasn’t shitfaced all the time.

Seriously though, German/French ancestory.

Take care.
