The Warhammer 40,000 universe, followed by the Star Wars universe. One of those hippy utopias might be a better place to live, but I prefer to read about these two.
How about these the following?
Olson Scott Card’s universe in Phool’s Company and Phool’s Paradise would be a very interesting yet comfortable place to live and work on the planets he describes in these comedic novels.
The Chronicals of Riddick is a universe where life is would be very gritty, and only the strong would survive as long as the characters remain cautious.
Then there is the triology of The Chronicals of Amber not a universe that I would want to live in, but it is definitely an interesting place to visit.
All in all, I prefer novels with strong characters who deal with the societies and planets that they live, love, hate, and exist in with all of their personal quirks.
The Phule books are by Robert Asprin.
Based entirely on the way things are going on the tv show, without question it’s Terminator.
It was a pretty great concept before, if you like post apocalyptic things.
now though. It’s really gone beyond that. It’s turned into this weird metaphysical thing with multiple futures that are infinitely expanding on each other.
without giving too much away, the original dealt with technology running away beyond our ability to control it.
now it’s starting to look like the machines are having the same problem.
multiple, and possibly infinitely repeating technological singularities.
yeah, think about that.
